Across from him stands Zhang Mingyang, who skips the preamble and goes straight to lights-out mode. All three of his UFC bouts have ended in first-round finishes, and he’s not exactly the “let’s feel each other out” type. You’ve got a man who’s been knocked out twice in a row fighting a man who specializes in delivering knockouts. Sounds safe, right?

The co-main event? A grappler’s fever dream versus a submission artist’s day off. Brian Ortega, whose jiu-jitsu is silkier than a tailor’s best tie, meets Aljamain Sterling, a former champ who just might turn every clinch into a trap door. This isn’t so much striker vs. grappler as it is “who makes the first mistake and gets folded up like a lawn chair.”

Elsewhere on the card, Sergei Pavlovich and Waldo Cortes-Acosta will try to see whose chin survives longer, and honestly, the judges might not even get their coats off before that one’s over. The whole lineup is a roller coaster that doesn’t believe in brakes—blink and you’ll miss the carnage.
